Cocoa and Pinang prices and sales drop in Abdya

Blangpidie - Some farmers in the District of Southwest Aceh (Abdya) complained of falling prices of plantation commodities like betel nuts and chocolate (kakoa) in recent weeks. For some of them very dependent on the sector alive. So that the condition makes them reluctant to harvest their crops.

Agustiar (25), farmer Lhok resident elephants, Kuala Batee District, the Porch, Wednesday (28/12) claimed, falling prices of plantation commodities such as dried nut and chocolate that have occurred since the last few weeks. Previously the price of betel nuts and dried brown judged very promising.

"Previously dried areca prices at farm level Rp 8.000/kg now dropped to Rp 5,000 to Rp 6.000/kg, as well as dry cocoa farmers had bought from Rp 17,000 to Rp 18.500/kg now dropped to Rp 14,000 to Rp 14.500/kg, "Agustiar said, as he said declining prices nut was very detrimental to farmers plantations, especially the areca nut processing takes a long time.
